Dallas Baptist University is looking to begin a club Ice Hockey team for the 2010-2011 school year. Tryouts and practice will begin in early summer 2010 and competition will start in October 2010. The Patriot Ice Hockey Team will compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II, amongst other Texas schools, including the University of Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, SMU, Oklahoma, North Texas, Texas Tech, and UT-Arlington, just to name a few. DBU will provide all league and rink fees, as well as travel costs, uniforms and some gear.
At Dallas Baptist University, the Patriot Athletic Department offers varsity athletic programs including: a NCAA Division I mens baseball team and NCAA Division II men's basketball, men and womens cross-country/track, golf and tennis, and womens soccer and volleyball teams, which compete in the Heartland Conference. All intercollegiate athletic teams also hold membership in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Patriot Cheerleading participates as a club sport on the DBU campus.
