DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS

Two Dallas Baptist Patriot Golfers received post season honors for their efforts during the 2009-2010 seasons. Freshman Will Dusenbury was named to the PING Golf Coaches Association All-South Central Region Team for his outstanding play in regional and national competition, while Senior Heather Wilbur was named a 2009-2010 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar recipient.

Dusenbury, from League City, Texas, finished the season with six top ten finishes, including second place finishes at both the NCCAA Championship in October and the Heartland Conference Tournament, where he fired an impressive six-under-par in the third round, his lowest round of the season. Dusenbury’s season low, three round total of 211 at the DBU Patriot Classic on March 30, garnered him first place honors, as he finished one-over-par.

Wilbur, a Kinesiology major from Georgetown, Texas, was selected to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for the 2009-2010 seasons. A total of 494 women’s collegiate golfers from Division I, II, and III were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Wilbur finished the 2009-2010 season with three top 20 finishes, including a fourth place finish at the Heartland Conference Tournament on April 20. Wilbur turned in rounds of 79 and 71 on her way to a six-over-par total of 150, her lowest score of the season.
