After earning a trip to the NCCAA National Tournament a year ago, the Lady Patriot Soccer Team will look to build on their success during the 2010 season. DBU finished 2009 with an 11-12-1 overall record, and 7-5 Heartland Conference record, finishing in fourth place.

The Lady Patriots will be returning many of their top players from the 2009 season after losing only one starter. Seniors Ally Bales and Haley Corbell, along with Junior Brittany Layne will all look to build on successful seasons a year ago. Layne was the leading scorer in the Heartland Conference last season, as she scored 11 goals for DBU.

The 2010 team will feature five newcomers including Freshmen Ashley Corbitt, Kelsey Hall, Kristin Bjork, and Nicole Disevo, who will all be looking to step in and have an immediate impact on the team’s success.
The Lady Patriots will begin the season at home on September 2, when they take on the University of Central Missouri at 7:00 p.m. The Lady Patriots 2010 schedule includes several regionally ranked teams that will provide great competition for the Lady Patriots.

""The 2010 season has some new and exciting opportunities for our team,” said Head Coach Michelle Lenard. “We are playing a very strong pre-conference schedule that includes numerous regionally and nationally ranked teams. We have a very heavy home schedule before conference begins which should give us the opportunity to really build strength and unity in our program. With the strength of the returning class as well as the incoming players I am very excited about the potential of this group. I think this is one of the best teams DBU soccer has put together to date and I look forward to seeing what they are able to do this year," she added.
